Balsam Workshop In Beirut

Balsam group is a workshop supported by Rowaq Al-Balqa foundation for art-Jordan to help decorate Rizk Hospital, with the collaboration of 10 students from the Lebanese American University, some of the hospitals nurses and doctors, and for kids who wishes to participate. It is required to finish 200 paintings in 10 days, as in 8 to 10 boreds for each student. It is mandatory from us to draw paintings that make patients feel joyful and happy. So we had to stay away from 2 colors: black and red, and had to use ones that are calming and denotes warmth such as blue and yellow. These paintings will be hung up in every corner of the hospital, in patients rooms, cafeteria, hall ways, and entrance. As Balsam helps in creating a completely different mood for patients, it also motivates us students and all people collaborating to comfort and condole with patients and ease their pain...

The opening of the exhibition of the work created during this workshop will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at LAU University Medical Center - Rizk Hospital at 7:00PM.
